Phoenix has come a long, long way from the days when it was a stage coach stop for some people coming from Tucson. I remember, probably in 1951 or 1952, we were on a bus going to Palm Springs and passed an old stage coach line that had exposed beams like railroad cross ties except these were or formed a road for the stage coach. It was amazing. I never even knew Phoenix had light rail. The last time I was there it was not much more than a twinkle in the night sky and a little larger than Tucson, but not by much.
